Privacy Policy — We Are Beyond
Last updated: 15-09-2026
This privacy statement explains which personal data We Are Beyond (“we”, “us”, “wearebeyond.nl”) collects from visitors and members, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.
Responses
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Upon approval of your response, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your response.
Contact form
If you submit an enquiry via our contact form, we collect the details you provide — your name, email address, telephone number, location and the reason for your contact request — so that we can respond to your enquiry. These details are sent to our team by email and are not used for any other purposes without your consent.
Media
When uploading images to the website, it is better not to upload images containing location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract all location data from images on the website.
Biscuits
When you leave a comment on our site, you can opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. This cookie expires after 1 day.
Embedded content and maps
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, maps, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Our site uses Google Maps to display our Amsterdam locations. When you view a page with an embedded Google Maps map, Google may collect data about your visit, use cookies and track your interaction with the map. Google's privacy policy is available here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
These third-party websites and services may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, even if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
When you submit a request to reset your password, your IP address is included in the password reset email.
Submissions via the contact form are shared internally with our team with the aim of responding to your request.
How long we keep your data
When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if applicable), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Submissions via the contact form are retained for as long as necessary to answer and handle your request, unless a longer retention period is required for administrative, legal or security purposes.
What rights you have regarding your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left a comment, or submitted a contact form, you can request to receive an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
